THE HOUSE OF ASFAAN
ASFAAN is an Indian house, beginning with fragrance.
We create for founders, builders and creators: people bringing something of their own into the world. We are drawn to the imagination behind an idea, the discipline it takes to realise it and the care that makes the result personal.
That spirit guides our approach to design. We consider scent, form and presentation together, from the character of a fragrance to the proportion of its bottle, the feel of its packaging and the space around our name. Each decision contributes to how the whole is experienced.
We favour clear forms and deliberate contrasts. A composed exterior can hold something warm, vivid or unexpected. Restraint, to us, is not the absence of character. It is knowing where to hold back and where to let that character speak.
We begin with fragrance because scent changes presence without explaining it. Worn on skin and revealed over time, it can become part of a daily ritual, accompany an encounter or hold the memory of a particular moment.
For people who put so much of themselves into what they create, fragrance offers a moment of personal pleasure. It is something chosen for yourself, as much as for the impression it leaves.
There is no single way to create, and no single way to wear ASFAAN. A fragrance may echo your character, offer a contrast or simply feel right. Each has a character of its own, with room for the person who chooses it.
What begins as our expression becomes part of yours.
A NOTE FROM THE FOUNDER
I grew up in Bangalore and later studied in the UK and the Netherlands. Returning to India meant leaving a life I had worked for to build something of my own.
I founded ASFAAN with the belief that India should be recognised not only for what it can produce, but for its taste, imagination and creative authority.
I am drawn to fragrance because it can express character without being seen. It offers a way to explore atmosphere and memory, while creating something that becomes part of another person’s daily life.
For me, shaping the house means knowing what to leave out as much as what to include. A detail should not be there simply to attract attention. It should contribute to the character of the whole.
My ambition is to build an Indian house whose point of view carries through everything it creates. That begins with giving fragrance our full attention.
